Worth It's Weight in Gold

What is the most important thing in your life? I bet when you read this question an answer pops into your head immediately just like one does for me. Everyone in the world tends to answer this question differently, it is based completely on past experiences and emotions. Although my answer does not fit my past experiences, it does fit my beliefs. No matter what happens in my life I know that these people will always have my back and be there for me. I know that they will love me unconditionally no matter what we will all go through, and that has been a lot. If you could not tell by now, my answer is my family. There is so many people out there that would say this is a cliché on my part but in all honesty I have no idea where I would be without them for so many reasons.

When I was three years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and it gave my family quite a scare. Through all the support my family gave each other we were able to manage pass that sticky situation but we were not out of the woods yet. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer about the same time and she was not as lucky as I was. Our family held together as well as you could hope for in that situation. After a long three year battle, my mother passed away and that made me realize how lucky I was. I not only had her as my mother but I had three other mothers. That was my grandmother and my two aunts. They stepped into the mother position in my life when they truly did not have to. It made me realize that our family was stronger than I had previously thought. I knew I could trust these people with my life or talk to them about anything and that made me ecstatic.

The most important aspect of our family is communication and sometimes we are not entirely the efficient at this. Just like every other family out there we are not perfect but we try our best to stick together. There is times when we will lose touch with each other and go for days not talking to each other. We may not talk to each other but we still know that the other is there for you. You could pick up the phone when something is wrong and we would all come running. Those goofy and crazy loud families you here about definitely fits the description of our family perfectly sometimes but it is what makes us so great. Our family continues to grow stronger and stronger each day with the craziness of our lives but you know we work through them together. The most entertaining thing about our family is the fun and exciting phone calls you could get at five o’clock in the morning. I know I definitely have some fun stories. No matter how crazy and random our phone calls are, the best thing is that we are always talking. Families like this are hard to find and I would not replace mine for anything in the world.

Craziness seems to be a basic personality for most families but I believe it is an aspect that makes my family a little more unique compared to others. It truly brings us closer together then we ever believe it could. Families may seem like an easy thing to talk about because they are a common thing across the nation but more than half the time they are truly worth their weight in gold. Everyone has their demons in their pass just like we do but we do not let that separate us. We stick together through the bad times and good times. No matter what happens between us all, we will forever be as thick as thieves.

  1. Randi--Nice job so far. Your writing flows well, and your tone is comfortable and confident. Good. Your content is thoughtful and well-developed. You are clearly working to connect to your audience. Keep that up. Make sure they always know why your info is important to them. Your layout and visual appeal is pretty good. You have a lot of text (which is good), but it can be a bit daunting to some people. You could quite easily add a bit more visual appeal with other images or videos or even a bit of different colored text in strategic places to add greater interest. Nice work.
